For discussing your mental health:
Choose a confidant you trust to talk about your mental health
Write down how you're feeling before you talk to your confidant
Text if face to face is too intimidating
Find important information online that can help you explain what you’re going through, and reference it

For discussing with another person about their mental health:
Ask. It’s that simple. Ask what they want or what they need.
Acknowledge what they say, do not be quick to judge. Treat it like any other health concern.
Be a good friend even if it’s hard. Be patient and be kind.
