In Africa, 66 million women are suffering from depression, and 85% have no access to treatment. StrongMinds provides free, group talk therapy to low-income women in Uganda and Zambia. Their services include peer-to-peer therapy, phone-based teletherapy, public education campaigns, and partnerships. Women who partake achieve clinically significant reductions in depression symptoms, restoring hope for themselves and their families.
The Jed Foundation's purpose is to protect emotional health and prevent suicide, specifically for people transitioning into adulthood. The Jed Foundation (JED) empowers teens and young adults with the skills and support to grow into healthy, thriving adults. JED supports schools evaluate and strengthen their mental health, substance misuse and suicide prevention programs and systems to safeguard individual and community health.
The goal of the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation is to fund cutting edge research to find cures for mental illness. They are committed to alleviating the suffering of mental illness by awarding scientific research grants that will ultimately enable people to live full, happy, productive lives. 100% of donations for research goes to research for mental health. The research is selected by world-renowned scientists.
